About this treatment
Njavarakizhi is one of the signature rejuvenation therapies of Kerala Ayurveda. Njavara — a 60-day medicinal rice grown in Kerala — is cooked with milk and a herbal decoction (kashayam), tied into cloth boluses, and applied warm in long, sweeping strokes over the body.
The therapy nourishes deeply at the level of the muscle and bone tissue (mamsa and asthi dhatu). It is prescribed for muscular weakness, neurological disorders, post-illness recovery and anti-ageing rejuvenation.
